The process leading up to scattering of ashes

To use the [Scattering of Ashes on SANKOTSUYAMA], first select the plan you would like and provide the details on the application form. After that, your application will be officially completed once we have confirmed your payment. After you have officially applied, we will inform you of the mailing address for the ashes. Once the ashes arrive, we will pulverize them. For the [COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN] and [INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], the scattering date will be left to us. For the [SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN], we will negotiate with you to decide the scattering date and meeting place, and then the scattering ceremony will take place on the day.

1.Please apply using the dedicated application form.

Dedicated application forms are available for each plan. First, select a plan and submit it using the dedicated application form.

2.Your application will be official once payment is complete.

Once we receive the details from the dedicated application form, your application will be provisional. At this stage, it is not a formal application. Your application will be considered formal once we have confirmed your payment. Once we have confirmed your payment, we will inform you of the mailing address for the ashes. As the mailing address for the ashes is specified as [post office pick-up], we do not accept applications at our office.

3.Please send the remains by mail.

Cremated remains can be sent by mail from the post office using Yu-Pack. You can send them using regular cardboard boxes. You can send them in the urn itself, or you can transfer the remains to a box or plastic bag. We will dispose of the urn that is normally sent to us, so if you need the urn, please transfer the remains to a different container before sending it. If you are sending the urn itself, please secure it with packing tape to prevent the lid from coming off and the contents from spilling out. In case the urn breaks, please use newspaper or bubble wrap to keep it from moving around before sending it.

4.Bone pulverization

Once the remains arrive at the designated post office, our staff will come to collect them and then begin the pulverization process. Please note that once pulverized, the remains cannot be restored to their original shape. If the remains contain a lot of moisture, they will be allowed to dry naturally before the process begins, which may take longer than usual. After being crushed into small pieces of approximately 1mm to 2mm, they will be further sterilized. If you would like some of the pulverized remains returned to you as a "home memorial," we will do so upon your request.

5.Arranging the scattering date (SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN)

If you are requesting a scattering ceremony with your family present, we will arrange the date for the ceremony. Please let us know the date, time, meeting location, and number of people attending. We usually meet at a station near the scattering location. The number of people present is limited to two to three, depending on the capacity of the shuttle bus. If the bereaved family members arrive by private car and join forces from the meeting location to the site, there is no limit on the number of people. However, for groups of more than 10 people, some scattering locations may not be suitable, so please discuss this with us. Please note that for the [COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN] and [INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], the scattering ceremony will be held at our own time.

6.Scattering Ceremony

The scattering ceremony will be held in a solemn atmosphere regardless of the plan. The contents of the scattering ceremony will vary depending on whether you choose the [COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], [INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], or [SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN]. Please understand that the ceremony will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

7.Issuance of a certificate of scattering of ashes

A scattering certificate will be issued at a later date. It will include the name of the deceased, scattering location, scattering date, and witnesses. It will be issued for the [INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN] and [SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN ]. The [COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN] does not include a scattering certificate, but the date and scattering location will be notified by email at a later date.

We will also ask for the name of the deceased, so please submit your request using the dedicated scattering request email form.
