Scattering ashes in Sagami Bay,
a sacred place for scattering ashes - Shonan Ocean Scattering |
| |
Ocean scattering involves scattering ashes in the Shonan Sea, known as Japan's most famous tourist destination. Many famous people have had their ashes scattered in Sagami Bay, near Shonan. These include Yujiro Ishihara, Shintaro Ishihara, Sadako Sawamura, Izumi Masatoshi, and Kanako Fukaura. Many of these scatterings are at the request of the deceased, and it is expected to become increasingly popular in the future. Ocean scattering is often used to mourn those who loved the sea, especially those whose ashes have been reduced to a fine powder, which will travel around the world on ocean currents. While it may feel a little lonely, many scatterings are done with the intention of sending the deceased off on a new journey. Our ocean scattering service is only available at night. Please note that we do not offer ocean scattering during the day. The ocean at night has a sadder, more melancholic feel than during the day. The mystical atmosphere of the moonlit night ocean makes for a particularly memorable funeral ceremony. For the "Scattering at Presence Plan," transportation by private car from the nearest station is included for the scattering ceremony on the day. With this plan, you will meet at a station in Kamakura City. From there, the scattering will be carried out using a dedicated boat. However, the number of people allowed on board to witness the ceremony will be limited to one. Guests who are unable to board the boat will be seen off on the shore. If the boat cannot depart due to wave conditions, we can also scatter the ashes from the quay, so you can rest assured. Ocean scattering is highly dependent on weather conditions, so if you are concerned, we recommend the "Individual Scattering Agency Plan." |

OCEAN SCATTERING PLAN
IN SAGAMI-BAY |
|
|
| |
With the Ocean Scattering Plan, we handle everything from pulverization to ocean scattering. All Ocean Scattering Plans are only scattered during the dark hours of the night, from dusk until sunrise. The process begins with the ashes being delivered by courier. Once you have applied, please send the package via postal service, marking it "ashes" and paying the shipping fee. As long as the package is packed securely, the ashes can be sent via standard Yu-Pack shipping. While special packaging kits for ashes are available on Amazon and other online retailers, a standard Yu-Pack box will also work. If you choose to send the ashes via the post office, you will be responsible for the shipping costs. Once the ashes arrive at our company, we will pulverize them into powder. The ashes will then be scattered at a location of your choice. The ceremony content varies slightly depending on the plan. Our Ocean Scattering Plans include the Individual Scattering Plan, in which we handle the scattering on your behalf, and the Attended Scattering Plan, in which your family members attend the ceremony at the site. The scattering location is off the coast of Sagami Bay in the Shonan area or off the coast of Tokyo Bay in the Miura Peninsula area. With the Joint Scattering Plan, we will take care of the remains and scatter them at sea responsibly, but we cannot accept requests for specific locations. With the Attended Scattering Plan, we will discuss the scattering location and timing. With Ocean Scattering, you can also scatter the ashes yourself. If you would like to scatter the ashes at a location of your choice or keep them at home for personal memorial services, please choose the Comminution Plan. The ashes will be returned to you after the comminution process. |

| ◆COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN |
| |
| With the COLLECTIVE SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN, we will crush the remains we receive in advance into powder. The ashes will then be scattered in the forest. The scattering ceremony on the day will be performed responsibly by our staff. The scattering ceremony includes a "flower and leaf scattering" and a "moment of silence." Since scattering of ashes does not allow for burial, the "flower and leaf scattering" ceremony involves scattering wildflowers and leaves along with the ashes. This is a ceremony that allows you to express gratitude and become one with nature, regardless of your sect. Since it is a joint scattering, the ceremony will be performed with the remains of other deceased. Religion, including non-denominational beliefs, such as Buddhism, Shinto, and Christianity, is completely unrelated. Our motto is to provide heartfelt service without being bound by form. |

| ◆INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN |
| |
| With the [INDIVISUAL SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], we will crush the ashes you have received in advance into powder. The ashes will then be scattered at your designated scattering location. The scattering ceremony on the day will be performed by our staff, eliminating the need to take time out of your busy schedule to travel to the mountains. Since the scattering ceremony is performed individually, the ashes will not be mixed with other remains. The scattering ceremony will also include the cremation of a memorial photo, the scattering of flowers and leaves, and a moment of silence. Photographs of the scattering ceremony will be taken and sent to you later, so relatives can view them. With the [OCEAN SCATTERING PLAN], the ashes will travel the world with the currents of the tide, and scattering flowers and leaves with the ashes will express our support for their journey. With this [INDIVISUAL OCEAN SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN], you can choose your own scattering location. There is no additional charge. You are free to choose from the following scattering locations. We provide services regardless of sect, including Buddhism, Shintoism, and Christianity. Our motto is to provide heartfelt service without being bound by formalities. | |
| The "OCEAN SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN" allows you to be present at the scattering ceremony. This plan includes transportation to the nearest train station, allowing several people to attend the ceremony. The remains we receive in advance will be crushed into powder. The ashes will then be scattered at a scattering location of your choice. The scattering ceremony will be conducted by our staff together with your attendees. The scattering will be conducted individually, so the remains will not be mixed with other remains. The scattering ceremony includes the cremation of a memorial photo, the scattering of flowers and leaves, a candle service, and a moment of silence. Photographs of the scattering ceremony will be taken and sent to you later, so that relatives who were unable to attend can view them. Although the ashes cannot be buried during the scattering ceremony, scattering wildflowers and leaves with the ashes allows you to become one with nature. After the ceremony, we will provide transportation to the nearest train station. In the case of ocean scattering, the ceremony is generally held in the evening after sunset. We can perform this regardless of sect, including Buddhism, Shintoism, and Christianity. Our motto is to provide heartfelt service without being bound by formalities. "Ocean scattering" is a funeral method that has become popular not only in Japan but around the world. Scattering ashes into rivers is not permitted in Japan, so this method seems to be gaining popularity. It is particularly popular as a way to say goodbye to a deceased loved one, and services such as chartering a motorboat or cruiser to scatter ashes offshore are popular. However, the drawbacks of this method include the fact that the ocean is easily affected by weather, which can suddenly result in a cancellation on the scheduled date, and the relatively high cost of chartering a boat. Our company, Sankotsuyama, offers an "Ocean Scattering Plan," which uses our small boat, eliminating the additional cost of chartering a boat. All costs are included in the price. Furthermore, "ocean scattering" does not necessarily require the services of a specialized scattering company. Individuals are not prohibited from scattering powdered ashes into the sea. However, scattering ashes is prohibited near fishing grounds or public beaches because it may cause inconvenience to others or damage to reputations, so you must choose the location carefully.
With the Ocean Scattering Plan offered by SANKOTSUYAMA, we handle everything from pulverization to ocean scattering. Our Ocean Scattering Plans include COLLECTIVE OCEAN SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN and INDIVISUAL OCEAN SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN, in which we handle the scattering on your behalf. We also offer OCEAN SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN, in which the family members attend the ceremony at the site. All Ocean Scattering Plans are only scattered in the dark, nighttime hours after sunset, before sunrise. The process begins with the delivery of the ashes via courier. Once you have applied, please send the ashes via the post office, marking them as "ashes" and paying the shipping fee. As long as the ashes are packaged properly, they can be sent via standard Yu-Pack shipping. Special packaging kits for ashes are available on Amazon and other online retailers, but a standard Yu-Pack box will also work. If you choose to send the ashes via the post office, you will need to pay the shipping costs. Once the ashes arrive at our company, we will pulverize them into powder. After that, the ashes will be scattered at a location of your choice. The scattering location will be off the coast of Sagami Bay in the Shonan area or off the coast of Tokyo Bay in the Miura Peninsula area. For the "OCEAN SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN," the scattering location and timing will be discussed. If you would like to keep some of the ashes instead of scattering all of them, this can be accommodated within the fee, so please let us know the details. |

Choose scattering location |
|
|
| |
SANKOTSUYAMA's "natural burial" service focuses on natural scattering in the Shonan area, known as the "holy land of ashes scattering." However, you can also choose the scattering location more precisely. For "forest scattering," we offer scattering in a number of forests in Yokohama, Yokosuka, Miura, Kamakura, Zushi, Hayama, Oiso, Odawara, Hakone, Yamakita, and Sagamihara. If you specify, we can scatter the ashes in your chosen forest. All land is owned by our company, so it can be used for generations to come. Our "FOREST SCATTERING PLAN" include three types: "COLLECTIVE FOREST SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN", "INDIVISUAL FOREST SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN" and "FOREST SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN". The affordable "COLLECTIVE FOREST SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN" is a simple plan that simply involves sending the ashes via Yu-Pack. The "INDIVISUAL FOREST SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN" allows you to leave the funeral arrangements to us, allowing you to choose your preferred scattering location. With the "FOREST SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN" , you will be able to attend the local scattering ceremony. However, even after scattering, you can visit the site at any time, 365 days a year, allowing you to use the site just like a regular grave. Unlike ocean scattering, forest scattering allows for true "return to the earth." All "Forest Scattering" plans are natural burials with perpetual memorial services. Unlike typical "tree burials," the remains are not transferred to a communal grave after a certain period of time. There are no subsequent costs, such as management fees, so you can rest assured. Regarding the specific scattering location, please note that we do not provide detailed information on our website that could identify the location due to concerns about negative publicity. Furthermore, with the "OCEAN SCATTERING PLAN" , we scatter ashes in Tokyo Bay from the Miura Peninsula and Sagami Bay from the Shonan area. We offer three "OCEAN SCATTERING PLAN", "COLLECTIVE OCEAN SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN", "INDIVISUAL OCEAN SCATTERING AGENCY PLAN" and "OCEAN SCATTERING CELEMONY ATTEND PLAN" . The unique feature of the "Ocean Scattering" ceremony at SANKOTSUYAMAn is that it is only held at night, after sunset. Unlike the daytime sea, the "Ocean Scattering" takes place in the dark, creating a mystical atmosphere. In any case, since this is the final resting place of the deceased, we believe that a quiet environment where they can rest in peace is desirable. If you have a preference for the scattering location, please let us know. |
